The local perspective

Discover Theis Attaway Nature Center

Theis Attaway Nature Center at 13509 Theis Lane is a City of Tomball park built around a four-acre nature preserve. It was donated and dedicated in memory of A. W. (Allie) Theis by his wife, Thelma Attaway Theis, and their children; the Theis family's forefathers settled in the Tomball area in 1846. A paved, six-foot-wide walking trail about a quarter mile long loops around the preserve, making it an easy, accessible stroll for families with strollers, older visitors and anyone wanting a quiet nature break. Along the way you'll find shaded picnic areas, benches, a fishing pond and an amphitheater, so it's a pleasant spot to pack a lunch, watch for birds or let kids explore. Parking is limited to about eight spaces. The nature center is northeast of the Walmart Supercenter, a short drive from Old Town Tomball's shops and restaurants. See the City of Tomball's park page for details and rules.
