The local perspective

Discover Thirsty Bee Meadery

Thirsty Bee Meadery in Old Town Tomball is run by local beekeepers who make mead, or honey wine, from local honey. Their tasting room at 212 West Main Street is a cozy spot. Try the 7% ABV draft mead, refreshing on a hot Texas day, or traditional dry and sweet meads made with pure raw honey at 10% to 14% ABV, by the glass or in a tasting flight. Bottles and growlers are available to take home, and there's a mead club for regulars. The tasting room is open daily, from noon on most days and from 9 a.m. on Saturdays, according to The Tomball Times. Thirsty Bee also hosts regular events such as open mic Saturdays and mahjong nights, and the space can be booked for private events. It's a unique stop on a Main Street stroll, just steps from the farmers market, Mahjong Rodeo and Old Town's shops and restaurants.
