Whistle Stop Tea Room

The local perspective

Discover Whistle Stop Tea Room

The Whistle Stop Tea Room is a beloved lunch spot in the charming antique district of historic downtown Tomball, located in The Relics by the Railroad Center at 107 Commerce Street. It calls itself "A Texas Tea Room" because of its generous portions; you certainly won't leave hungry. The lunch menu ranges from traditional Texas tea to hearty meals and salads, and the soups, sandwiches, quiche and desserts are made fresh from the tea room's own recipes. It's famous for its croissant bread pudding drizzled with warm buttery rum sauce, and there are at least 13 selections in the dessert case every day. The Chicken Tortilla Soup is a house favorite, available by the pint or quart to go, and the chicken salad, jalapeño pimento cheese and whole desserts can also be taken home. Next door, The Whistle Stop Express handles takeout orders and has a gift shop. It's open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
